Comments on: What If Your Customers Were Actually People? https://ducttapemarketing.com/customer-personas/ Thu, 25 Jan 2024 13:18:44 +0000 hourly 1 By: Dan Woodruff https://ducttapemarketing.com/customer-personas/#comment-65040 Wed, 10 Jul 2013 07:56:00 +0000 http://ducttapemarketing.com/blog/?p=14213#comment-65040 Thanks for the show – I really enjoy your considered approach. I’ve read (and loved) 2 of your books and will now go back and re-examine our client profiles. I’ve definitely found that this approach gives us focus on who to market to, and how to do it. It also reassures the prospects that we understand them.

Just to let you know, the link to the Buyer Persona Institute doesn’t work.

This is what builds customer loyalty and makes people feel a real connection with your brand. Fail to build a real relationship, and they’re likely to have their needs fulfilled somewhere else.

Hey Shelia – I think it’s also a way to be misled – demographics that is.

I love the idea of using interviews to gain better marketing info. Simple getting client to target the demographics is sometimes hard enough. Thanks again — loved it.

I would add that the best way to understand the 5 buying insights is to have a specialized kind of conversation with recent buyers. And you’re right, John, our private workshops are targeted to companies that have at least 4 people in a marketing role.

But we do have a pre-recorded, on-demand workshop that is for individuals and very popular with small companies. If your readers are interested in learning how to conduct buyer interviews to better understand their buying behavior, they should check out our Buyer Persona Masterclass at http://www.buyerpersona.com/masterclass.

I love your work and so appreciate the time you took to understand this important topic.

I hear you Glenn but I think some of that has to do with the consultant speak associated with the term. We have a persona called “Destined to Be Small” it’s a bit broad but perfectly captures a type of client we won’t help and there are one or two things that a prospect can say or do that puts them in this category – end of the chase!

Though I suppose personas can be used to imagine who a perfect customer would be, if by some miracle such a person were to exist, in a perfect world.

But Jason, it’s not a funnel, it’s an hourglass! 🙂
